Transitioning into Post-16 Education: Lambeth Students with SEND (Video)

A recording of a presentation delivered online for parents and professionals based in Lambeth in October 2021. The presentation covers key information that parents and professionals should know as children and young people prepare to move from secondary school into sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships or one of the many other options available. We speak about the available options and Sam Morris, a guest speaker from post-16 setting Roots and Shoots speaks about the setting’s offer. We explain how the transitions process is slightly different for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), as well as what steps to take – and when – to ensure that their move into post-16 is as smooth as possible.
